Creative Advertising?

I was just watching a commercial that made me laugh. It was for Chocolate Special K cereal. I'm sure their product is great, but this commercial stretched it a little. In the commercial, a lady is watching her son put icing on a cake. She picks up the icing bowl and scoops up a huge bite of chocolaty goodness on her finger. As she ALMOST puts it in her mouth, she thinks, "hmmm, I bet a bowl of Chocolate Special K would taste just as good as this gooey finger-full of chocolate icing." You know, because HELLO, CHOCOLATE ICING AND SPECIAL K CEREAL ARE THE SAME. I mean, the last time I made a chocolate cake, I almost iced it with cereal because they are so similar that I got confused.

But at the same time, I'm also thinking that people who can happily substitute chocolate icing for Special K cereal probably don't have the weight issues that usually are associated with the need for substituting Special K cereal with other stuff.

Know what I mean?

I do that all the time.

I waste a lot of cakes because I'm always icing them with Special K. It's a real problem.

I know. I totally wrote this post for you. I mean, I'd hate for you, the cake woman, to accidentally ice the cake with cereal. You might want to label your cereal and icing really clearly so this mistake doesn't happen.

Just looking out for ya.

Why am I killing myself trying to make it to the gym and counting points (Weight Watchers thing) when Special K will kick my cravings? I agree that people who can sub Special K for chocolate icing probably don't have weight issues. I had a size 4 person in my life tell me she carries a little container of almonds in her purse and when she feels hungry she eats 4 or 5 almonds and that will carry her until her next meal. She has never had a weight problem. Hello! I will never be able to get one leg into a size four and I am o.k. with that. I just want to be able to fit into the "fat" shorts I bought last summer!
