Confession Time.

I have a love/hate relationship with my feet.

The "love" part is that they look like my dad's feet and I adore my dad.

The "hate" part is that they look like my dad's feet. Man feet on a girl = not cute.

I don't like to draw attention to my feet. I never EVER polish my toenails. I hate HATE someone touching my feet. I have never gotten a pedicure (much to the astonishment of ...um... every girl I know). My toenails are teeny and don't grow and look ridiculous with polish on them.

Fussing over my feet is just something I wasn't created to do. But it is sad to be a girl in the south and not be able to wear cute YellowBox flip flops proudly.

And I have been sad.

Until last week.

And I can't even believe I'm blogging about this for all humanity to see.

Mary, you will be proud of me.

Here goes.

I got acrylic nails put on my toes and then had a full out pedicure. Yes, it can be done.

Y'all.

I have pretty feet for the first time in my whole entire life! My toenails are pretty and shapely (weird to call toenails shapely?) and painted RED (I haven't had painted toenails for my entire adult life) and look pretty in flip flops! I find myself bumping into things when I walk around because I am looking down to marvel at the prettiness of my feet!

I can't even get believe it.

Now my feet don't look so much like my dad's, but I'll take pretty feet over man feet any day of the week.

Last Saturday was my first "wear flip flops out of the house for people to see" experience when I went to my daughter's softball game. The weather was warm, the sun was shining, and I got a LOVELY flip flop tan.

But I don't even care.

Because I have cute girl feet.

Everyone is requesting feet pictures...how cute! I totally get your foot thing...forever I had the ugliest feet...i picked my toenails off for years...gross I know...i finally left them alone long enough to have a pedicure a couple of years back and I can now say that I like my feet. My favorite way to paint them is a french pedicure and I LOVE my pedicurist...so happy for you that you have pretty feet! Yay!!! Oh, and what are yellow box flipflops???

Robin -- I adore you! And I love your feet, even before they were pretty!!

And I think you are uber-cool to post this for all the toenail challenged girls in the world!

Oh, and in your honor I bought TWO pair of Yellow Box flip flops today. I just felt it was my duty to recognize this major event and since I'm all selfLESS and stuff, I bought myself sandals!

And Jackie Sue Yellow Box is a brand name and they make the CUTEST flip-flops.

OK, u women....ENOUGH! What my lovely bride failed to tell you is that this little social experiment of her having pretty feet has cost me. Not once. But TWICE! She got home from the beach and was so proud of her purple toes (she swore they were red, but YO they were soooo purple). I didn't even ask how much it cost me. I really do think she was bumping into things b/c no sooner had she gotten home that one of those darned things fell off...O-F-F!!! It fell OFF! (Somewhere Jeff Foxworthy and his story about the beaver biting the guy's nipple off are laughing at this story:) Are you kidding me? I knew that was going to be pricey cuz she was going to HAVE to have it fixed. Well, not only she get it fixed, she got them ALL re-painted this time with a color that is most definitely red, but she also took my 7 year-old to have her toes did. Dang, I'm gonna have to sell a lot of drugs this month to pay for all the fixing of the toes in my house. Anyway, moral of the story (at least from hubby's perspective), sexy toes = happy mama! I'll live with her toes costing me a fortune as long as mama's happy!

You go! Flip flops are a summer must and the best ones to wear are Yellowbox. I only own about 10 pairs. And I love what 3girlsdaddy has to say about mama being happy. He's right Mama's happy everyone is happy. Mama ain't happy ain't no one happy.

I was going to be like the rest of the crowd and request photos...which I am requesting. But your hubs post cracked me up as much as yours. I no longer feel the need to read the comics in the morning.
I have pitiful toes too. But a few years ago I gave up, it is just stinkin hot in the south, and I am not a fan of the barefoot grocery shopper....so I turned to flip flops, I could care less what my toes look like anymore. I am comfy and cool.
Good for you, if my husband's job would work him everyday I might would splurge on the acrylics, but until then I will just pretend my feet look good. The imagination is a powerful thing. LOL

LOL. I got my very first pedicure only about two years ago (I'm WAY older than you!) I too hate anyone touching my feet. But oh my goodness, it feels so good. I have to go this weekend and get it done because I have a big trip coming up. It's a treat I only give myself a couple of times a year because it's so dadgum expensive!

Yep, dontcha just love pretty feet? :-)

@ 3GirlsDad ....

My dad got a tag put on the front of my mom's car that says "If Mama Aint Happy, Aint Nobody Happy!"

i want to see pics too but your husbands comment cracked me up!!!

Don't you think it's ironic that you have(had) such feet issues but you use a photo of your daughters' feet for your header? Just playing therapist for a moment! :)
